Remedy Entertainment and 505 Games have unveiled a very nice cinematic trailer ahead of Control‘s imminent launch next week. It was first shown at Gamescom in Germany this week. Players will become the newest Director of the Federal Bureau of Control, as she struggles to reclaim control.

The third-person action-adventure will launch globally on Tuesday, August 27th for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 (both physical and digital). There will also be a digital download PC version launching at the same time, but many will be displeased that it is just on the Epic Games Store. Control will be launching on August 28th in Korea via publisher H2 Interactive. In Japan, it will release later this autumn through publishing partner Marvelous. In South East Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan, it will be published by Huya, with the release date still to be confirmed. Here is the trailer:

 

To celebrate the launch of the game, 505 Games will we doing a stream event on Tuesday, August 27th from 8am to 4pm PDT. The event aims to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Hospital, a hospital and research facility. You can watch and/or donate at https://tiltify.com/@505games/505-games-for-st-jude.

Some fans will have the chance to try out Control at the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) West in Seattle Washington. This will be going on from Friday, August 30th to Monday, September 2nd in the 505 booth (#425), the Discord booth (#2109) and the Sony America booth.

A secret agency in New York has been invaded by some otherworldly threat. Players will fill the shoes of Jesse Fade, the new Director of the Federal Bureau of Control. She is struggling to reclaim control in this sandbox-style game that is built on the Northlight engine. Players must master supernatural abilities, reactive environments, and modifiable load outs. They will need to fight their way through mysterious worlds using those abilities and load outs.

Control combines the familiarity of our own reality, with the unexplained. It brings the gunplay and deep worlds Remedy is known for. You can find out more about the game at the Control official website.
