This week the Nintendo Download is a tad quieter. We have a trio of new featured titles to check out. Furthermore, Minecraft fans with a Switch Online membership can try out the full game, Minecaft Dungeons, for free until August 24th at 11:59 p.m. PT.

Featured Games

The first of our trio of featured titles this week is puzzle platformer Hoa ($13.49 | $14.99).  It launches on August 24th. Experience subtle storytelling as you adventure through exploration-based puzzles. Along the way, you’ll take in plenty of beautiful, hand-painted art with a peaceful atmosphere.

Pixel art adventure, Arietta of Spirits ($17.99 | $19.99) will arrive on August 20th. Arietta and her family visit the cabin of her late Grandmother for the first time a year after her death. However, things soon take a twist. Arietta unexpectedly becomes able to see strange spirits that call the island home. Enjoy an emotional narrative, and fast-paced combat as the adventure unfolds.

We close out this section with the turn-based RPG, King’s Bounty II ($59.99). The world of Nostria is falling into darkness. Conspiracy, necromancy, and sabotage take over, as a new savior begins to emerge. As creatures of blight lurk in the shadows, new heroes are forged. Can you help restore peace to Nostria?

Current Sales

The sales scene is also a bit quieter for this Nintendo Download. The QuakeCon 2021 sale and Eastward launch discount from last week are still active. The former is ending in a few more days, though.

However, we do have one new item this week. Visual novel, Necrobarista: Final Pour, ($18.69 | $21.99) is having a launch sale until August 24th at 9:59 a.m. PT.

As always, check out Nintendo’s sales page for full details.

Upcoming Games

The Nintendo Download has only a single lonely upcoming title to check out this week. The “modern noir deduction thriller”, Murder Mystery Machine ($19.99), brings plenty of mystery to the Switch starting on August 25th.

Well, that does it for another Nintendo Download. Have a great weekend everyone!

Michael Fontanini
Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general). I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
