I find myself once again checking out one of JAST USA’s newest releases, Mamono Musume – Slime & Scylla. This is the second title they have have localized from visual novel maker, Vanadis. Their previous title, Mamono Musume – Life with a Lamia, was pretty good with one of the cutest monster girls out there, Lemia. I went into this one with some pretty high expectations, let’s see if they meet them.

Mamono Musume - Slime Scylla | Horney

Our story begins as the mighty Captain Aves and his crew set out searching for their next treasure. This journey will be short lived, however, as a mighty storm tears the ship asunder, separating the captain from his crew. He washes up on a small island and encounters two young maidens. These are not ordinary gals though, they are monster girls, a slime and scylla to be exact. Humans and monsters were at war for many years, and though these girls seem harmless, you never know. On top of this, Aves discovers this is the very island where a treasure that can grant wishes is hidden. Will he find the treasure, and can he repair the girls’ ship to escape the island? Time will tell!

Mamono Musume - Slime Scylla | Meet the Girls

I have to say, I had a really great time with this story. Whomever it was over at JAST USA that decided to give Aves 100% pirate speak is a hero. This added so much flair to this story and set the mood extremely well. Our two monster girl heroines, Lime the Slime and Lachis the Scylla, are both very different in terms of their personalities. Lime is very carefree and innocent in her smaller form, but when she loses her reason and changes into her bigger form, she becomes a thirsty slime gal looking for some loving! She is very taken by Aves since she wants to become a pirate herself, but there is one small problem: she can’t stand seawater. Lachis will seem like your typical sharp tongued maid at first, but once she warms up to you she will show you a new side of herself. The way this route played out shocked me a bit since I was expecting her personality to stay a bit more to the sadist side than it did, but it turned out to be really entertaining in the end.

Mamono Musume - Slime Scylla | Bigger Lime

The artwork in Mamono Musume – Slime & Scylla is fantastic. I love the character art. Lime and Lachis have a bunch of different poses and expressions that really make the story feel immersive. Most of the CG found here are H-scenes, and they are top tier. Each girl has several unique scenes of them mostly dominating Aves in various ways. I was more of a Lime fan so I did enjoy her scenes a bit more, but that doesn’t make Lachis a bad girl by any means. She is a ton of fun, and if you’re into being pegged, she’s your girl!

Mamono Musume - Slime Scylla | Lime Love

While the music here is pretty basic, it’s very catchy. I found myself humming the happy little daily tunes long after I’d stopped playing. The voice acting here is fantastic. The Japanese cast really brings these girls to life, and you can feel the care and emotion they put into these roles. The girls get pretty loud during the H-scenes, especially Lachis, so headphones might be a good option if you don’t want to share her lovely sex voice with those around you.

Mamono Musume - Slime Scylla | Hug

Mamono Musume – Slime & Scylla is simply a fun ride from start to finish. Lime and Lachis are both amazing girls who will steal your heart, and when you complete both routes, there is even a nice harem scene. The overall story, while not deep, is interesting and heartfelt. The artwork here is great, and when you throw in the great audio work, you have a great experience overall. This title is pretty short, clocking in at about 4 to 6 hours for both routes, but I feel it’s well worth the budget price of just $14.99. If you like monster girls, you really can’t go wrong picking this one up.
