dies irea feature 2

We reported back in August on the apparent leak of a Steam release of Dies irae ~Amantes amentes~. Well now the developer, Light, is preparing to start a Kickstarter campaign for this very project. They setup a Prefundia page with all the details on their current plans for stretch goals, backer tiers, and a Q&A. The page also features a bunch of information on the game itself.

Plans for the new English localization of Dies irae ~Amantes amentes~ include a resolution increase from 800×600 to 1280×768. This also includes support for 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio and enhanced graphical effects. The user interface and menus will be tweaked to fit current systems.

“Scenes of explicit violence that were altered in the original Japanese version of ~Amantes amentes~ will be fully uncensored. Such CGs will appear as the creators originally intended them.

Furthermore, a free, separate patch restoring the full 18+ version content will be available for backers at no additional cost. Details concerning the patch are forthcoming.”

They are planning for the Steam release of Dies irae ~Amantes amentes~ to come in two parts. The first part will include Kasumi and Marie’s story routes. Kei and Rea’s routes will then be in part 2. It takes 60+ hours for one story play-through, and they say that releasing it all in one part would require a higher price tag. So instead, they’ve opted to make the world of Dies irae ~Amantes amentes~ more accessible to a wider audience in this way. Backers will have access to both parts once they are completed.

Currently, they plan on both parts one and two to be released in May of 2017. They’re Prefundia page also has an introduction to the story and a number of its characters. In addition, they’ve also posted a trailer on that page as well:

Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general). I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
