Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed | Linka's Birthday

While we here at Operation Rainfall love covering the latest in gaming news and sharing our reviews of titles new and classic, we also just enjoy playing games in our downtime. So with that, sit back, relax, and check out what the oprainfall gaming crew have been up to this week!

Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed | Linka's Birthday

I’ve been hopping between a select handful of games lately and I feel like I made very little progress in all of them this week. However, to not miss two Week in Gaming articles in a row again, I thought I better tell you all about my minimal progress anyways. I’ve pretty much been continuing to jump from Xenoblade Chronicles 3 to Persona 4 Golden and every now and then, I’ll also go screw around in Hyrule via Tears of the Kingdom. I’m not all that absorbed into any one game right now, just switching it up depending on my mood and whatever feels fun when I sit down with it. I haven’t gotten that much further in XC3‘s Future Redeemed story. Mostly I’m just clearing out sidequests up to the point I’m at and leveling my party up. I’ve now got everyone at level 40 and practically finished all the sidequests I had on hand. I’ve still got one that requires another nopon coin I believe, but since getting those is relatively random, I’m trying to get going and make progress towards the next story part.

Persona 4 Golden | Marakyu Striptease Battle

Persona 4 Golden I spent a bit of time grinding since getting Kanji in my party and wanting to be prepared for Rise’s dungeon, along with the two bosses at the end there. I’m now at the top of her dungeon. I got to the 11th floor but I’m still getting in some more level grinding. I’ve actually managed to collect a good handful of decent SP restoration items out of chests, so I can go all out on the first boss and still have SP for the second boss. I’m being a little vague to avoid major spoilers. I mean, now the game is really old and you can only spoil so much, but you never know, there could still be people reading this who haven’t played before. Thus me trying to not say too much. It’s been far too long since I’ve played Persona 4. I forgot how challenging it is on a first playthrough, not just surviving battles but also balancing all the social links and whatnot. It’s a fun game to periodically go back to though.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom | Gerudo

Much like the other games I mentioned above, I only made a tiny smidgen of progress in Tears of the Kingdom as well. I went through some of the Gerudo story and managed to get access to the Lightning Temple in the desert. I’m really low on resources though and left after unlocking teleport access to the temple. I’ve activated a few more roots underground and other than that, I haven’t done anything significant. At this point I’m using Zelda as a game to just mess around and have fun with when I don’t feel like the tedium of any of the RPGs I’m playing. Sometimes I simply don’t feel like having to constantly deal with party setups and complicated quests and whatnot. TOTK is great for just messing around and not thinking about anything too much, well that is if I don’t want to make real progress at least. It can be fun to just screw around and enjoy myself. – Jenae
