The highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake has finally arrived on PlayStation 4 worldwide. The game is rated “T for Teen” by the ESRB, and a demo is also available. According to the press release, those who download the demo before May 11th will get an exclusive PlayStation 4 system theme. The game is available in both digital and physical editions. It comes in three flavors on the official website:

  • Standard Edition
  • Deluxe Edition
  • 1st Class Edition

Here is the opening movie:

Final Fantasy VII Remake is no mere port. It has been rebuilt from the ground up using modern technology while reimagining the original title. That game changed RPGs with its deep story, and unforgettable cast of characters. The remake merges strategic, turn-based battle with real-time action. As you may well know, this remake project spans not just one game, but multiple. This is the first one, taking place in the massive city of Midgar. It will take you deeper into the world and characters than the original game.

In the game world, there is a dubious corporation known as Shinra Electric Power Company. Shrowded in secrecy, they control nothing short of the life force of the planet itself. One of their elite soldiers has left and become a mercenary. His name is Cloud Strife. Cloud now aids Avalanche, an underground group that works to fight back against the oppression of the Shinra Corporation. You can find out more about Final Fantasy VII Remake at the official website.

Michael Fontanini
Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general). I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
