The Nintendo eShop page for Mary Skelter 2 is now live on the US and EU stores. The game will launch on October 22 for $39.99 in the US and £35.99 in Europe. There will be a 20% discount for the first week after launch. That makes this a pretty sweet deal since Mary Skelter: Nightmares is included in this game as well.

The official website for the game has been update with the following information:

  • Character Profiles: Otsuu, Little Mermaid, and Nightmare Jack
  • System: Battle Basics, Kagome-Kagome Effect, and Revisit
    Mary Sketler™: Nightmares

Here is some information about the characters straight from the press release:

Otsuu

The protagonist who is also a Blood Maiden associated with Dawn. She made a vow of matrimony with Little Mermaid in their youth, and carries herself in a princely manner so she can become “Little Mermaid’s true prince.”
At times, her timidity peeks from under her front, but she’s straightforward and trustworthy at heart and will fight for her friends. She has a Blood Libido of wanting to return favors, which she is trying to hold back. Because of this, she is often heard using the word “owe,” just so that she doesn’t need to return favors.
Otsuu is the only one who seems to be able to understand Nightmare Jack.

Little Mermaid

A very thoughtful girl who finds happiness in bringing happiness to others.

She speaks in a soft tone, and gets along well with others, but she is very bold and may sometimes take actions that surprise those around her.

She asked Otsuu to become her “prince” when Otsuu proposed to her in their youth. She’s embarrassed she said that, but at the same time, she holds great affection towards Otsuu who is trying to fulfill her wish.

Nightmare Jack

A brave boy who sacrificed himself to save Little Mermaid.
As he lay dying, his anger about his own weakness attracted mysterious vines that transformed him into a Nightmare.

In this new form, he’s unintelligible, but his kind heart remains to help support the Blood Maidens in battle. Despite his gentle nature, too much trauma can send him on a rampage, so he sticks close to Otsuu – the only one with whom he can communicate and be calmed.

Here is some information about the systems found in this dark dungeon crawler straight from IFI:

Battle Basics – The player’s battle party consists of Otsuu, Jack, and 5 other members. In this turn-based dungeon RPG, players will use attacks that strike at enemy weaknesses, and doing Overkill finishes will draw enemy blood that can splatter on to the area and characters. The blood splattered on the characters can be “licked” off of them to activate special Blood Skills, but one can choose to let the blood splatter accumulate to activate the furious power of Massacre mode and Blood Skelter mode.

  • Massacre Mode –  When the character’s turn comes and the blood icon is filled, the character will enter Massacre mode. In Massacre mode, the character’s form and speech changes, as well as a boosts in stats. Players also gain access to powerful Massacre skills.
  • Blood Skelter Mode – If a Blood Maiden’s Corruption gauge is filled and she continues to be exposed to blood, she will enter a deeper state of madness called Blood Skelter mode. The berserk state during Blood Skelter mode will cause the Blood Maidens to attack enemies and allies. Avoid the Blood Skelter Mode or use it to your advantage during battle. Players can utilize Nightmare Jack’s special Purge command to bring the Blood Maiden out of their Blood Skelter state.

Kagome-Kagome Effect – Using a weapon that has a “Bloodshot” effect can bring about the Kagome-Kagome effect where enemies take massive bleed damage, and are forced to turn their back towards you. Enemies that have been affected are open to attacks. Players can strategize by focusing attacks on the hapless enemy, or use this opportunity to take down the other enemies.
Revisit Mary Skelter: Nightmares  The game is designed so that players can play Mary Skelter: Nightmares after clearing Mary Skelter 2. However, players can unlock Mary Skelter: Nightmares as a free AoC if players would like to play it before completing Mary Skelter 2. Once Mary Skelter: Nightmares is unlocked, players can toggle between either of the games at the title screen. We highly recommend playing Mary Skelter 2 first and then
Mary Skelter: Nightmares.
