Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Picture

What is Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call? I remember asking myself that question when the trademark popped up about a week ago. Seems today, we have our answer. Revealed in this week’s Jump magazine in Japan, Curtain Call is an entirely new game that features over 200 songs, new characters, new modes of play, and more! We don’t know much, but here’s a brief look at all things “new”:

First and foremost, some of the new characters include Ramza Beoulve (Final Fantasy Tactics), Benjamin (Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest) and Ace…from Final Fantasy Type-0. Methinks it’ll be interesting, when this game is inevitably localized, to see how Square-Enix handles a character from a yet-to-be-announced-for-the-West game. At any rate… you can also expect Zack Fair from Final Fantasy VII, Y’shtola from Final Fantasy XIV, and Yuna from Final Fantasy X-2. As far as new music: expect tracks from Final Fantasy XIV and Lightning Returns. And I imagine there will be tracks from the games where the new characters come from.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call | Jump Scan

You can see from the scan that there’s some sort of all new multiplayer Versus Mode, but no information has been offered to us as of yet. That’s pretty much all we know until more news comes our way. Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call will be headed to the Nintendo 3DS in Japan during the spring of 2014.

Excited by the news of another Theatrhythm game? Would you have rather it been done for a different franchise like Kingdom Hearts? Want to tell us an iOS port is inevitable? We know you have a lot to say, so by all means… sound off below!
