Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster Limited Edition Featured

Final Fantasy X HD

Does everyone remember this story, concerning Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster? It seems, despite a cloud of doubt cast over the majority, that this earlier-reported rumor has proven itself true. Today, a marketing coordinator for Square-Enix officially announced that a Limited Edition of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster does exist—and that those who pre-order the PlayStation 3 version of the game ($39.99) would be eligible for a free upgrade.

There it is. Turns out the Limited Edition features an art book that includes “several pieces of original concept art from the early development phases of FINAL FANTASY X and X-2 over ten years ago, lovingly bound in a beautiful 24-page[s]…” and “quotes and commentary from several of the original development team members, including a special message to you, the fans, from Producer Yoshinori Kitase himself!”

Square-Enix also took the time to put together a standard-versus-HD video comparison of the game(s). I went ahead and embedded that video below; check it out! Did you hear our impressions of the game on one of our E3 Editions of The Downpour Podcast?

The post from Square-Enix has additional information for those “not in the know”—but I gather that many of you are. Of course, if you’re not, here’s the official website with more information. I love when things like this pan out! Now all we need…is a release date.
