After Wayforward had announced its wrap-up for Mighty Switch Force! 2‘s development phase, we were left anticipating what new material would show up before its eventual release date. Thankfully, the good folks at Wayforward have not left us hanging, and have uploaded a new trailer for Mighty Switch Force! 2, showing the latest exploits of Patricia Wagon.
Here’s the trailer below:
In Mighty Switch Force! 2, Patricia is now a firefighter with new sprite designs and animations. There are also new enemies and some new mechanics like shooting water, though the core mechanics from the first game remain the same. You scale platforms, shoot through enemies, launch yourself and enemies with switchable launch panels, and rescue NPCs before clearing a level. Jake “Virt” Kaufman’s music also makes a return, and it sounds more catchy than ever.
The sequel definitely looks more action-oriented, however; the game appears to contain a lot more shooting, as you will be spraying lots of water to douse fires and clear burning paths and platforms. The hose can be used to solve puzzles by doing things like shooting at the pipeline to douse fires indirectly, or use it against enemies to make them explode, or push them on to switchable blocks to crush them. The hose does look limited, as the water gets weaker with every use.
Mighty Switch Force! 2 will be releasing on Nintendo 3DS e-Shop next week on June 13th for North America, and two week later on the 27th for Europe. This game looks incredibly fun.
