21. Blazing Citadel
The Blazing Citadel is the ninth tower on Aeron’s hitlist, and as you may have guessed, is based on the element of fire. It contains three chains which need to be decimated and a lot of lava to be traversed. This tower contains a central room which is pitch black and requires carefully timed jumps in order to cross; quite difficult to do in the dark!
22. Truegold Tower
As the name suggests, tower number ten, the Truegold Tower, is full of gold! It was infamous for being full of thieves who would then get lost in its many twists and turns. There are a whopping four chains for Aeron to eradicate, and like the other tower based on metal, it contains many lifts and pulleys which allow Aeron to scale the tower much more easily.
23. Blacklight Barbican
The Blacklight Barbican is the collective name for the eleventh and twelfth towers, known as the Dawn and Dusk towers respectively. Why are they grouped together? Because they’re tackled together. There are many warp points found within both towers, allowing you to fast travel between them. Warp points can be opened and closed, and it is sometimes necessary to progress in one tower to get further in the other.
There are four chains apiece in the Dawn and Dusk towers, for a total of eight between them. Even the Masters of these towers are fought together; breaking all four chains in one tower will give Aeron access to that Master’s room, but the battle will not initiate until he finishes the job in its twin. With some absolutely devious puzzles and the toughest enemies yet, the Blacklight Barbican is sure to test your skills and your patience.
24. Centrum
The thirteenth tower sits in the middle of the rest, and thus is aptly named Centrum. Little is known about it, aside from the fact that it is aligned to no particular element of Aios. It is the last tower Aeron must face in order to save his beloved.
25. Oraclos Chain
The Oraclos Chain is Aeron’s key weapon, and is needed to be able to rip out the Master Flesh he must feed to Elena. It has practical uses both in and outside of battle.
In combat, the Oraclos chain is able to latch on to foes and be yanked away for damage. It can also be used to bind enemies together; attacking one enemy while they are bound will send the attack rippling through the chain and do minor damage to your other for as well. Enemies can even be tossed around using the Oraclos Chain, provided they aren’t too large.
Outside of battle it can be used to latch on to things and pull them around. It can also be used as a grappling hook, allowing Aeron to swing across gaps and making it easier for him to scale some walls.
As well as the Oraclos Chain, Aeron can have one of three other weapons equipped to supplement his fighting.
26. Athosian Sword
The Athosian Sword is the one Aeron starts with. As is implied by its name, it came from his home country of Athos. This particular model of sword was developed in the year 460; 51 years prior to the events of Pandora’s Tower.
It deals a decent amount of damage and isn’t too slow, but not overly fast either. All in all, an average weapon, suitable for the beginning of the game.
27. Twinblades
The Twinblades were developed in the year 456 for the Athosian army. It is obtained by Aeron on the third floor of the third tower, the Wellspring Steeple.
The Twinblades are used by wielding one in each hand and landing multiple combination attacks. It may not deal much damage per hit, but it is a fast weapon which allows for great mobility.
28. Military Scythe
The Military Scythe was found by Aeron on the second floor of the Ironclad Turret. It is more powerful than either the Athosian Sword or the Twinblades, but is much slower as well. The Military Scythe will be the final weapon Aeron obtains before fighting the final boss.
29. Soundtrack
There aren’t many tracks in Pandora’s Tower, but all of them are spectacular. The music of Pandora’s Tower is very dramatic, loud and intrusive. It fits the setting of the game quite well, as Aeron’s journey to the towers is in itself an intrusion on his happy life with Elena.
All of the tracks found in Pandora’s Tower were based on classical music. The main theme was based on Dies Irae, a Latin hymn which was written in the thirteenth century. Dies Irae roughly translates to “Day of Wrath”.
Eternal Blessing, sung by Elena throughout the game, was based on Franz Liszt’s Liebesträume, or “Theme of Love”. An appropriate name for a game with such an emphasis on the loving relationship between its protagonists.
30. New Game +
We’re going to be rounding out the tidbits with some information on how you’ll be rounding out Pandora’s Tower: New Game +.
This feature allows you to start the game over again with all your endgame equipment, items and affinity level with Elena. There is added content in New Game +; in particular, Mavda starts stocking an item which will open a lot of doors for Aeron.
You don’t have to start from the beginning, either; the game will allow you to jump in at certain points in the story’s progression and start playing from there. So if you can’t be bothered going through all of it again, you don’t have to! Just reload from one of the given in-game plot points.
This, my dear readers, concludes all 30 of our tidbits. I hope you enjoyed them whilst they lasted, and I hope you found them informative. All that is left to say is enjoy your game and pat yourselves on the back; mission accomplished!
