MGS: The Legacy Collection 1

Good news for all you American, die hard Metal Gear Solid fans who own a Playstation 3!  As of this morning, Konami has announced that their newest compilation, the MGS: The Legacy Collection, will be available on the Sony console with a Summer release for North America.

Konami has detailed that this bundle is going to cover over 50 years of history and four generations of consoles, with every core title of the Metal Gear Solid franchise being available in a single box; allowing fans, both new and old, to experience the complete Metal Gear Solid universe in all its glory.

These are the following Metal Gear Solid titles that have been promised to make an appearance:

  • Metal Gear Solid
  • Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions
  • Metal Gear Solid 2: HD Edition
  • Metal Gear Solid 3: HD Edition
  • MGS3 including MSX versions of Metal Gear 1 and 2
  • Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD Edition
  • Metal Gear Solid IV: Trophy Edition

But that’s not all, Konami has also promised that MGS: The Legacy Collection will contain two Ashley Wood digital art graphic novels (which never got released outside of Japan) and a 100-page art book that will make any collector drool with anticipation.

It’s a lot to to take in, but The MGS: The Legacy Collection may very well be the biggest and most ambitious compilation that Konami has ever done, and it will have an added bonus of being sold for a mere $50 at American retail, too! So Metal Gear Solid fans should be ready to take out their wallets, a PS3 controller, and of course those empty cardboard boxes, to experience Solid Snake’s legacy one more time.

MGS: The Legacy Collection will be ready for purchase on July 9th, 2013 for eager North American consumers, with Japan getting it two days later on July 11th. As of now, no word on a European release has been announced, so fans of the region should stay tuned for future developments.
