*Spoilers Ahead*

The ending of last week’s episode revealed that Kirito and Asuna would be getting married, but I didn’t expect it to be so fast! No vows were spoken and a ceremony was nowhere to be seen. I was kind of hoping for one of those special moments comparable to that of Romeo and Juliet in Romeo x Juliet, but that’s okay; I’ll live! Besides, who has time for a wedding ceremony when Kirito and Asuna are now a mom and dad? Yup, you got that right. Apparently in Sword Art Online all you have to do is find a wandering child in the woods and BAM!, they’re yours to raise.

Okay, I’m kidding, at least they are trying to find the adorable Yui’s parents in the Town of Beginnings. Yui has no memory and the only thing she knows is her own name. Kirito and Asuna found her wandering alone, and what’s even stranger is she’s not registered as a normal character. Yet because she’s not a NPC or quest-giving character, she is literally shrouded in some form of mystery.

Near the end of the episode, after Asuna saves a handful of kids from some bored army guys in the Town of Beginnings, Yui freaks out and the area around her glitches a bit. There are absolutely no clues as to why Yui was able to affect the area around her, but she does talk about people’s hearts and some other mumbo jumbo. I have this feeling that Yui is an example of some program or chunk of code that somehow took on a human form. What else would she be? I’m sure we’ll learn more about Yui in time.

The one, truly meaningful scene in Girl of the Morning Dew, happens in the beginning before the opening theme rolls. Kirito questions if his relationship and happiness with Asuna will continue to exist in the real world. Asuna resolves his insecurity with assurance that they will find each other once everything is over in SAO. It’s nice to know that if both of them survive all 100 floors in the game that their relationship will continue on. Or at least it’s nice to think that. I wonder if they are truly, truly in love or if this is all sporadic emotion coming together because of the ‘life or death’ nature of the game. Maybe we’ll find out by the end of the series?
