Mobius Final Fantasy

Free to play mobile game, Mobius Final Fantasy is now headed for the PC. In November it will be coming to Japan’s Steam store. Pre-registration for the game is now available and depending on the number of individuals who sign up, will give players in-game items. A trailer for the PC version was released.

So what do you all think of this? Think more free to play games will be making the leap to things like Steam?

About Walter P

Plays too much, but still has too many games to finish. Will play any type of game and will watch anything, so is of course not good at being productive. Loves anything crazy.

Right, because there’s nothing people on Steam love more than mobile ports.

    • Panpopo

FF9 on steam is a mobile port, and that was well received.

Granted this is a different kind of game and seems more like an experiment for the Japanese market. It would be real interesting if all their FTP mobile games start being ported to steam and end up being successful both in Japan and the west.

    • Solbasa

That’s technically true about FF9, but it’s not exactly what I meant. FF9 is on mobile, but it’s not exactly a mobile game in that it wasn’t designed to be played on a mobile platform. It’s more like the opposite, a PC port on mobile. Meanwhile, Mobius Final Fantasy is a mobile game through and through, something that has a history of being poorly received on Steam.

    • Panpopo

Ah, I see – my Steam community knowledge is not very good other than certain games like that one

I still think this is primarily for the Japanese market. While most play on phones many popular games like Granblue Fantasy can be played on PC. This particular FF seems to be targeting that same market.
