Shadow of the Eternals | Operation Rainfall

The crowdfunding site for Shadow of the Eternals went live earlier today. It will not be hosted on KickStarter, but on the game’s own website. In addition to a full trailer for the game, all of the information regarding the crowdfunding program is listed. The plan is to make a digitally available, episodic game containing 12 episodes around 2-4 hours long apiece.

The posted goal of the campaign is $1,500,000 and several tiers are available. Depending on how much you donate you can get the first episode, half the season, or even the full season of Shadow of the Eternals; the soundtrack; a digital copy of the script for the game; and more. Some of the tiers have limited editions that give you a bonus normally available at more expensive tiers. The campaign is at just over $40,000 as of this writing with 30 days left to go.

The Terms of Use for the crowdfunding campaign of Shadow of the Eternals originally stated that “Precursor Games is under no obligation to complete the game, or in the event completion is impossible, return any of the donations it has received.” It has since been changed and states that Precursor Games will refund all donations should the project fail. So for those of you who are worried about donating money to this campaign, don’t worry.

In addition, Denis Dyack presented the first nine minutes of gameplay for Shadow of the Eternals on IGN. A full, uncensored interview with Dyack will go live on IGN tomorrow. You can watch the gameplay demo here. Shadow of the Eternals is slated for a Q3 2014 release on the PC and the Wii U. If you want to donate to this campaign, you can do it on their website here.
