GOAL $20,000 AND UNDER

Binary Flow 2 - Last Call for Funding | oprainfall

Binary Flow 2

  • Goal: $1,000 CAD
  • Platforms: Windows, possible Xbox One and PS4 ports

From the Kickstarter page:

To start off, my idea was to place a circle inside another circle and last the longest without falling outside the other circle. This has been the first version of Binary flow that I have posted exclusively for iphones and ipads (ios). This game got the in the top 11 arcade games in china with over 13k downloads on the release date.

Now, Binary flow 2 will be the next big game that will be more complex. I love how this game just differs from other and how the multiplayer function will outstand its experience. It is why this new game will release only in multiplayer but I will eventually put up the single player mode for those of you that want a solo experience. You will have the ability to make yourself your own account to be able to access your friend list and the leader board.

A demo is available on the Kickstarter page. You can also help this game by voting for it on Steam Greenlight.

The Bureau is a unique crime solving game. Hurled into the gritty action-world of arson, murder, and espionage, Kendall finds herself in over her head. It’s up to the player to ensure that she doesn’t drown. Bureau is full of colorful, exotic, and eccentric characters, including Wally (a psychotic anti-extremist extremist).

The game tackles controversial subjects such as race, religion and sex, exploring how our brain works to alter reality and bias our decisions.

DinoSystem - Last Call for Funding | oprainfall

DinoSystem

  • Goal: $12,500
  • Platforms: Windows and Mac OS, possible Linux and Mobile releases via stretch goals

From the Kickstarter page:

DinoSystem is the ultimate sandbox and open-ended wilderness survival game immersed in an ecosystem simulation. It is planned for PC, MAC and possibly Linux and Android/iOS. The game will be released as a DRM free download and backers will receive a Steam key, if it goes on Steam.

The setting takes place during the late Cretaceous period, and the end-game features a massive disaster marking the end of the age of Dinosaurs which the player must strive to survive.

The game simulates every imaginable variable such as advanced and basic needs, air and body temperatures, animal life and behavioral aspects, plant life cycles, natural disasters, soil fertility, water cycle, and various weather related elements such as atmospheric pressure, humidity, and seasonal changes among many more yet to be determined. Every variable works to create a dynamic and emergent survival experience where, even though the player is not the center of the world, they can influence it with their actions.

DinoSystem can be played in both a Survival Mode and God Mode. The latter has you actively managing the simulated ecosystem a bit like SimEarth and SimLife.

Dragun Nimidae - Last Call for Funding | oprainfall

Dragun Nimidae

  • Goal: €2,000
  • Platforms: Windows

From the Kickstarter page:

Dragun Nimidae will be a third person action adventure game. But instead of building a story around the gameplay, we will be doing the opposite: creating gameplay that’s complementary to the world and story of Dragun Nimidae.

What does this mean?

Well, have you ever played a Role Playing Game and grinded your character and then cake-walked the first part of the game? Or played a MMO game and just clicked through the story just to keep going? So busy chosing skills that you forget about the world you’re actually in?

We have, and what we wanted to create is a game where that gameplay enhances the experience instead of being the experience. We would like to spend more time in those beautifull crafted worlds instead of reading various screens and running from one quest objective to the next. Off course we’ll be throwing gameplay at you, but it will be subtle and fresh.

With this set up you can fully enjoy the fantasy land of Nimidae and all it’s characters within while you try to unravel the mysteries that are conceiled by a smooth line of purposely designed gameplay that matters to the story.

You can also support this game by voting for it on Steam Greenlight.

Elite Battalion Commander

  • Goal: £2,000
  • Platforms: Windows

From the Kickstarter page:

Elite battalion commander is a tactical turn based war game, the player matching side of things is designed to be as simple as possible, you create a game, someone will join it, so you should never be without an opponent. The turn is quickly and easily downloaded in game and played at your liesure, take 5 minutes to do a turn, or 5 hours… however long you take, you do it at your liesure.

There is no random in the game, except the actual map, everything is is fixed, all combat results can be seen before you commit, and even if you did, there is an undo function that can undo anything, even sometime after you gave the battalion the order.

The game was written from scratch using the allegro library, which is just graphics, so it is easy for me to update it and get it to do anything I want. Also the networking is done via FTP servers, so that side of things is very solid and reliable.

A demo is available through the game’s website.

The Floating World - Village (Prototype) - Last Call for Funding | oprainfall

The Floating World

  • Goal: $5,000 CAD
  • Platforms: Windows, Mac OS

From the Kickstarter page:

The Floating World is a game about being confused. Clement Barbour, the player character, has washed ashore of Edo-period Japan. Although fluent in English, all those around him can only communicate in Japanese. Clement must learn to communicate with the locals in order to return home. Featuring beautiful hand drawn art based upon ukiyo-e and real world locations, The Floating World aims to transport the player to a time and place unique to a video game world. Utilizing a three Act story, The Floating World will be released in three installments.

Edo Japan was a beautiful place. The art and culture were so vastly different than the rest of the world. The Floating World recreates Edo Japan using the ukiyo-e art style. A style not commonly used outside of its traditional implementation, ukiyo-e is the perfect encapsulation of Edo period Japan. Featuring unique hand drawn art based upon real world locations and custom animation, The Floating World breathes life into a, formerly still, art style.

King's Men - Last Call for Funding | oprainfall

King’s Men

  • Goal: $7,000
  • Platforms: Windows, Mac OS, Linux

From the Kickstarter page:

King’s Men is a puzzle platforming game, featuring silly human characters that resemble iconic chess pieces. As The King, the player must rescue their men from the enemy! Once a character has been rescued, they are available to use as long as they stay alive. The player can easily switch between rescued characters to fight enemies, solve puzzles, or sacrifice themselves for the King. If a rescued character dies, they might be found again at a later point. Just as in real chess, if at any point the King dies, the game will be over, and the enemy will provide an insult with one of several unkind phrases.

Each character will have strengths and weaknesses, loosely inspired by the way their chess counterpart behaves on the chess board, as well as any historical significance associated with the chess piece’s name. The Pawn will move slightly faster, but have a weaker attack. The Bishop will find unconventional and strategic ways to deal with enemies. The Queen will have an area of effect attack and quickly come to the aid of other characters.

You can learn more about this game by checking out its Steam Concepts page as well as the demo linked in the Kickstarter page.

Kings of Kung Fu - Last Call for Funding | oprainfall

Kings of Kung Fu

  • Goal: $5,000
  • Platforms: Windows, Mac OS, Linux

From the Kickstarter page:

Kings of Kung Fu is passion project, a love letter to martial arts cinema, a project born out of a lifelong love of Martial arts films. These films were a major part of my childhood. I always wanted to see the best styles in Martial Arts films in one game. Imagine Jeet Kune Do style vs Drunken Boxing or Shaolin Hung Gar style vs Wing Chun. The possibilities are endless, and now for the first time ever you can see your favorite movie fighting styles in one game.

After years of countless fighting games and their sequels I have yet to find a game that marries the two genres seamlessly. A year ago I decided to take matters into my own hands, and thus Kings of Kung Fu was born. Kings of Kung fu is a game created by a martial arts film fan for martial arts film fans. A game that treats the subject matter with the passion and reverence it deserves. There are no over the top powers or character designs but more accurate features that we come to expect from the genre that we love so dearly.

Little Lamper

  • Goal: $12,000 CAD
  • Platforms: iOS, Android

From the Kickstarter page:

Once, we lived in peace and serenity. Our home was a safe haven, secluded, luminous against the darkness that surrounded us and a beacon to guide our friends and family back home. But that was before…

Now, with our home destroyed, we are constantly on the run, avoiding dangers, eluding the spiders, and making our way through dangerous environments to try to find a new sanctuary that we can call home

Little Lamper is a tunnel runner game where you play as a species of fireflies called ‘Lampers’ through a variety of dangerous environments. Avoid obstacles, dodge pebbles, collect coins and sap, and use a number of power-ups to help you survive the challenges you’ll face as a small bug in a big world.

The Lampers you can play as are; Lil’ Lamper, the Princess, the Professor, the Ninja, and the Pirate. Each have their own unique look, and you will be able to customize them further to create a Lamper to suit your imagination.

Moira - Last Call for Funding | oprainfall

Möira

  • Goal: $8,000 CAD
  • Platforms: Windows, Mac OS, Linux, 3DS, Wii U

From the Kickstarter page:

Möira is an old school platformer inspired by the early Game Boy years. Gaming has evolved so much since then, and now that we have the technology to surpass the Game Boy hardware limitations, we aim to expand the game to its limits while still giving the same feeling that we had when we used to play our beloved platformers back in the day.

In Möira, you’ll be able to explore the eight kingdoms presented in the story, every single one of them with its unique characters, enemies and bosses. Different environments will also come with new mechanics. One of the main features in this game will be how the player will be able to copy the ability of every enemy in the game.

As you progress, you’ll be able to memorize certain types of wisdom magic obtained from bosses or important NPCs. The puzzles throughout the game will require you to use various powers to advance. Secret areas will also be present, so watch out, every enemy in the level might be important somehow!

Another important feature in the game is the ability to combine powers you’ve learned. Not all the powers are combinable, though. Some enemies will only take damage from a specific combination, so, if you ever come into trouble fighting one of the bad guys, think outside the box!

You can also help this game out by voting for it on Steam Greenlight.

The Runners

  • Goal: $1,000
  • Platforms: Windows, Mac OS, iOS, Android

From the Kickstarter page:

The Runners is a 2.5D mobile action-adventure game which follows in the spirit of the metroidvania genre, while incorporating elements from the stealth and survival-horror genres. You take the role of Newman, who is stranded in Tesla 101 and must seek to stand his ground against the aggressive robots that patrol the city. This game arose out of our desire to create an immersive narrative sci-fi experience on the phone that we just don’t believe is fulfilled by any other game on the market. So for the past year, we have been hard at work at developing the game. The entire time, we’ve been striving for this feeling of scavenging and exploring the city, all while using your wits to overcome the enemies who oppose you. Now, as we begin to have this feeling be realized by the game, we’re asking for your help to make the fully fleshed-out experience.
