Super Smash Bros - Mega Man vs. Kirby

The pink, cuddly, and wildly dangerous puff ball known as Kirby has always been one of the most versatile combatants in the Super Smash Bros. series. One of the key differences between Kirby and the rest of the Super Smash Bros. community is his sucking ability which leads to him gaining his unlucky foes B-button ability. Now, with the surprise reveal of Mega Man’s long overdue entrance into the fray, a potentially awesome possibility just opened for that cuddly little ball of destruction. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it may be a while before we find out.

Super Smash Bros - Mega Man Reveal

Kirby + The Blue Bomber = The ultimate auto-KO death machine?

In a recent interview, Super Smash Bros. godfather Masahiro Sakurai wouldn’t reveal what Mega Man ability would get passed on to Kirby, he simply said “What you’re asking is still classified.” Sakurai then went on to say “As far as the physical appearance of Kirby, I think what you imagine is probably pretty close to what will actually happen”. That could be taken as a good sign, right?

Right before the interview came to its eventual close, Sakurai was asked if there was any chance that Kirby would get his own personalized mini Mega Buster. “He’s got little tiny arms, so who knows,” Sakurai stated.

So there you have it, folks. We won’t know what will become of Kirby’s Mega Man ability in Super Smash Bros. till some unpronounced date in the unforeseen future. What are all of you out there hoping will be the outcome? I personally would love to  see Mega Man’s “Shoryuken” uppercut come into play. Be sure to let us know in the comments.
