Linus & Lloyd

Linus “The Mad Dog” and Lloyd “White Wolf” Reed are the sons of Brendan Reed, the man who formed the Black Fang. They quickly rose through the ranks of the organisation due to their high level of skill in combat. They were one of the Four Fangs, one of the highest ranks among the Black Fang. The Black Fang used to be a group dedicated to helping out the poor and wiping out corrupted nobles. This changed when Brendan was seduced by the morph Sonia, who then manipulated Brendan into obeying Nergal. The brothers noticed this, but were unable to question their father about it, and died in his service.

The interesting aspect of Lloyd and Linus is that they are the first members of the black fang that shows us that they are victims of Nergal just like Eliwood. The black fang members that Eliwood and company meet are pretty evil and don’t question the reason why they are fighting. They just see this as an excuse to kill. These brothers show us what the black fang was really like before Nergal manipulated them behind the scenes. When Eliwood defeats one of the brothers, he takes them hostage. However this brother doesn’t feel like Eliwood is a target the black fang would normaly go after and thus lets him go. They are honorable and watching them makes you hate Nergal even more for corrupting the origination to meet his own ends.

Being a fan of Fire Emblem, I must say this brought me good memories…I love Linus and Lloyd as characters…for Sacred Stones, I’d like to see Lyon, Joshua and Cormag, those are the ones that I remember being very well developed

    • Lyon is a given. He’s the most well developed character in the game. We’ll take a look at the others.

The first Fire Emblem I played was on the Game Boy Advance (First FE translated ever, I think its the 7th entry). I fell in Love with the game within the first minutes!! My most loved character are: Raven (red haired merceneray turning into a bad ass Hero later), Priscilla the troubadour (Raven sister, turning into a beautiful Valkyrie later) and Jaffar (a silent and murdrous assasin that shows rare affection toward Nino, a little girl mage).
I wish Nintendo woul keep on making more FE and can’t wait for the one on 3DS to get localized!

    • My favorites are Guy, Karel and Lyn, I love the swordmasters.

  • This is what’s so great about Fire Emblem. The characters have so much depth and you have to play through multiple times to get to know them fully.

This was made five years ago. I wonder how you feel today about Fire Emblem…

  • Honorable mention: Karel. Goes from psycho killer in 7 to peaceful swordmonk in 6.
