The “East Asian pop-culture” convention Otakon just had it’s 20th anniversary this weekend. So to be expected, each panelist brought their A-game – specifically FUNimation. During both of their panels – Sunrise and industry – FUNimation made grand announcements of the numerous titles that they have saved. To put it simply, every license obtained allows FUNimation to produce and release DVD, Blu-ray, and digital versions of the anime to audiences outside of Japan. A list of obtained series can be found below.
Sunrise panel announcements:
- Tales of the Abyss
- Witch Hunter Robin
- Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion

If that towering list of titles didn’t quite tickle your fancy, then FUNimation’s announcement at their marvelous panel should do the trick. They have also acquired licenses for Cowboy Bebop and Wolf Children. Although Cowboy Bebop has had its fair share of U.S. DVD releases, now, for the first time, the series in its entirety will be available digitally and on Blu-ray in 2014. Be sure to check out the “Coming Soon” trailer found below. Wolf Children on the other hand will be available on DVD/Blu-ray combo November 11.
