The new turn-based indie RPG from SideQuest Studios, Rainbow Skies, will be out in 2014, and it will be exclusive to the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. The game is an “indirect sequel” to last year’s Rainbow Moon.
A recent PlayStation.Blog post by SideQuest Studios’ CEO Marcus Pukropski revealed some interesting details about the game and its development over the past year. First, Rainbow Skies has a story that is independent of the first game, with new characters and monsters. The game also takes place in a whole new world that is actually two parallel worlds.
It will also have a bunch of new features, such as monster taming, combo attacks, a dialog and emoticon system, treasure hunt quests, improved side-quests and some all-new mini-games, just to name a few. Despite all the new features, the game will also stay true to its roots. It will still have the familiar features of turn-based battles and free-world exploration. The game will also have cross-play functionality between the PS3 and Vita.
