Ahead of the launch of Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter, GungHo Online Entertainment America has released a Legacy Patch as part of the 1.07 update for Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter. The patch updates multiple English terms used in the game to keep them in line with future titles in the series. For example, Bitter Tomato was renamed to Acerbic Tomato, Jade Tower was renamed to Esmelas Tower, Orbal golem was renamed to Archaism. In addition, the English voice pronunciation of certain words have also been updated. English pronunciations that have been updated include Liberl, Calvard, Auslese, and more.
An overview of the localization updates is as follows:
- Updated certain English voice and text to reflect legacy terminology
- Updated certain English voice to reflect legacy pronunciations
- Updated English UI and system text to reflect legacy terminology
- Updated French and German text for increased accuracy and consistency
- Updated certain voice and text lines to fix grammatical errors and improve dialogue flow
According to GungHo, the Legacy Patch was made to “ease the transition between Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter and later Trails titles.” You can read the full list of changes on the game’s official update page. For those that don’t want to play with the localization changes on the Steam version, you can switch to the 1.06.3 branch.
Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter is available now for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. You can check out our review of the game HERE.
