Microsoft have announced their successor to the Xbox One, currently known as ‘Project Scorpio‘ at the end of their E3 conference.
This updated version will be 4K-capable and VR-ready, therefore allowing developers to optimise their games towards more modern technology and be on par with gaming PCs.
Games released on Project Scorpio will be compatible with the Xbox One and the newly-announced slim model. However, games will look more visually appealing on Project Scorpio, likewise have a better frame rate and fewer technical hiccups.
Project Scorpio is being targeted for a 2017 release, which will also mean it goes up for competition with other console upgrades from Sony and Nintendo.
