If stories of revenge in Feudal-era Japan featuring heavy doses of folklore and puzzle elements are right up your alley, then you might be excited to know that 99 Spirits is now available via Steam. The title, which was approved via Steam Greenlight in October, can now be purchased for $14.99 USD through the Steam store. A purchase of the game will also include a copy of its original Japanese version as a separate entry into your Steam library.
An Artbook & Music Collection featuring the game’s OST and a digital art book can also be purchased for $14.99; or if you’re a big collector, you can splurge for the Steam Special Edition. At $24.99, the price is right for a copy of the game, the 17-track OST, the 60 page digital art book, and the original Japanese version of the title. All three options are currently on sale for 10% off and will continue to be discounted until November 19th.
99 Spirits was originally released in Japan as Tsukumogami by Japanese indie game circle TORaIKI last fall. Since then, the game has been the recipient of the Indie Dev Grant and had a hugely successful run on IndieGoGo before Fruitbat Factory brought it outside of Japan as 99 Spirits this past May. The protagonist, a girl named Hanabusa, fights to avenge her mother’s death in a Feudal-era Japan where everyday objects gain a life of their own on their 100th birthday.
The Steam version will include 49 Steam achievements, stats, access to the Steam Cloud and Steam Trading Cards. The game itself also features multiple endings and dual audio. Check out the trailer below for a look at what the game has to offer.
