During a special Witch on the Holy Night stage held at Machi★Asobi, which was streamed on ABEMA, the first three voice cast members for the anime film adaptation were revealed. The three cast members reprise their roles from the visual novel.
The announced cast and characters are as follows:
Aoko Aozaki (CV. Haruka Tomatsu)
Soujyurou Sizuki (CV. Yūsuke Kobayashi)
Alice Kuonji (CV. Kana Hanazawa)
A synopsis of the film is as follows:
A certain girl attending high school, Aozaki Aoko,
is in truth a witch living in the modern age. — Though merely an apprentice.
As she works toward becoming a full-fledged witch,
spending her days with her housemate Kuonji Alice–The girl meets a boy.
This is the story of one girl’s(witch’s) beginning.
The Witch on the Holy Night anime film is produced by Ufotable and planned to release in theaters in 2026. It is an adaptation of the TYPE-MOON visual novel of the same name which released for PC in 2012. It was first written in 1996 by Kinoko Nasu and it laid the groundwork for future works by Nasu such as Tsukihime and Fate/stay night. An HD remaster of the visual novel released in 2022 for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch and in 2023 for PC via Steam.
