Ufotable has announced that the Witch on the Holy Night (Mahoutsukai no Yoru) anime film will release in theaters in 2026. The movie is an adaptation of TYPE-MOON’s visual novel of the same name which originally released on PC in 2012. It was first written in 1996 by Kinoko Nasu and it laid the groundwork for future works by Nasu such as Tsukihime and Fate/stay night. An HD remaster of the visual novel released in 2022 for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch and in 2023 for PC via Steam.

The Witch on the Holy Night anime film was first announced in 2021 and is scheduled to release 2026 in theaters. It is produced by Ufotable who have adapted other TYPE-MOON works such as Fate/stay night and The Garden of Sinners (Kara no Kyoukai). Their latest TYPE-MOON related works were Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel III. spring song and the opening animations for Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon-.
