Today, Atlus West has released a ton of details about their upcoming release of Persona 5 Tactica. This includes details about the game’s kingdoms, mechanics and more. Let’s dig in here and see how what’s up with this exciting release.
When the story begins, our Phantom Thieves of Hearts find themselves trapped in a wild Metaverse. They soon find themselves in combat with a military force known as the Legionnaires, that is accompanied by their leader Marie. The heroes attempt to fight them off but fail, because most of the crew is brainwashed by Marie. However, Morgana and Joker escape this fate. The two of them barely escape with their lives and they soon meet up with the Rebel Corps Leader, Erina. She explains to them, the Metaverse they’ve stumbled into is called The Kingdoms. With her help they are able to avoid the grasp of Marie, and know you must help them unravel the mystery of this world and undoing the brainwashing of their comrades.
Marie’s Kingdom is ruled by her with an iron fist. She is obsessed with power and control of the citizenry. This all part of her master plan to stage the perfect wedding! Joker and Morgana soon end up here searching for their friends, when they find themselves locked up in jail with a man who claims to be Toshiro Kasukabe. He is a politician that went missing from the real world sometime ago, so the two doubt his story. Not long after, Marie announces she found the groom she intends to marry.
In addition to these story beats, there is plenty of new information about the gameplay of Persona 5 Tactica, and some of these are pretty unique. Players can Take Cover at the end of their turn if they are in a proper position. This will cut down on the damage they receive from enemy attacks, or nullify them altogether. If you cannot take cover at the end of your turn, the enemy may get a critical hit that will result in the enemy getting an extra attack. The overall battle system is the Persona standard we all know and love. Try to exploit your enemy’s weaknesses or infect them with status aliments. This will give you extra attacks and a great advantage in battle. Each of the characters have a special skill they can unleash during battle once the gauge is charged. These range from overpowered attacks to amazing support abilities.
Each of the characters has a skill tree that is used to buff them up for all the combat that lies ahead. You will gain points to unlock your skills through battles or by talking to your allies at the hideout in-between battles.
Persona 5 Tactica is scheduled for release on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch on November 17, 2023. You can check out the official site for more information about this release.
