Splatoon 3 | oprainfall gaming

While we here at Operation Rainfall love covering the latest in gaming news and sharing our reviews of titles new and classic, we also just enjoy playing games in our downtime. So with that, sit back, relax, and check out what the oprainfall gaming crew have been up to this week!

I didn’t do as much gaming this week as I have been recently, but I was able play enough Made in Abyss: The Binary Star Falling into Darkness to write a comprehensive review. This is one of the few times I didn’t play something all the way to the end, but I will explain why in the actual review. I began playing Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the latter part of the week. I wanted to start this series for a while, and since I’m going to be using my laptop the new few weeks more than usual, this was a good fit for me right now. I’m about six hours in and I love the gameplay and story so far. I see why everyone fell in love with Estelle right off the bat. She is the pinnacle of tomboyish greatness! – Steve

Splatoon 3 | Octoling in Splatfest T-Shirt

This week I mostly focused on playing Splatoon 3 and my latest review, which is a casual real time game so I played a little bit of that each day throughout the week. In Splatoon 3, I focused on Turf Wars so I could earn more money in game to keep buying cool new equipment and locker customizations. I also have been trying to unlock various abilities on all my equipment. I do kinda dislike that it’s so random which abilities you get, but I hope to collect enough ability chunks over time that I can at least change some of them on my favorite equipment, like my crown from the Pearl amiibo. I also managed to get up to level 15, so I now have the tall locker, which is pretty cool since that gives me more space to add stuff. I love features like that where you can customize something throughout the game and other players see it. Also, I got a few good rare cards in Tableturf and have been raising my level on that minigame to unlock and play against however many NPC opponents there are. Oh and I almost forgot, I picked my team for the next Splatfest as well, Team Gear, and I got abilities I’m happy with unlocked on my Splatfest T-shirt. – Jenae

Splatoon 3 | oprainfall gaming

My week has been mostly working on an upcoming otome review, but I did take some time out to play more Splatoon 3. I finally tried out Salmon Run, which is a mode I completely neglected in Splatoon 2. It’s fun, but I’m absolute rubbish at it. I always prefer the roller-type weapons, so being forced to use a variety of them took a lot of getting used to, but I also appreciate that the game wants players to be comfortable with all different sorts of weapons. I also played some Turf War here and there, but still haven’t really done much else with the game yet. I’m just enjoying the vibe. Also I signed up for Team Gear because it’s the best team and the only choice that makes sense. Go Team Gear! Outside of that, I finally got around to trying the 6.2 Extreme trial in Final Fantasy XIV, and Nier: Re[in]carnation added a second Persona 5 Royal story and associated pulls. I really do need to finish Persona 1 one of these days and go through the rest of the series. – Leah
