Last night at the JAST panel they announced some amazing upcoming titles, so let’s take a quick look at each of these.

First up we have Inyochu: Insects of Insemination. This one comes to us from creator TinkerBell, and from the title you can probably tell where this is going.

From the VNDB:

Remake of the first In’youchuu.

The story starts at the office of the demon hunter company, the “Black Cat Brigade”. A phone call informs them of a case regarding a haunted school, the case sounds simple and since Mikoto is afraid of ghosts and Yamato is too much of a trouble maker, Takeru decides to take care of the case by herself.

One week passes and Takeru has interrupted all communications, which is very unlike her, so Mikoto and Takeru decide to go looking for her at the school. Once there they find a pretty normal situation but no trace of Takeru, so they decide to act as students, with permission from the principal, to look for her without raising suspicions. They also meet with Sui, Yamato’s childhood friend who clearly has feelings for him, who says she met Takeru right before she disappeared. It quickly becomes clear that something strange is going on in this seemingly peaceful and respectful private institute in the middle of the mountains….

This one is fully translated and edited so it will likely release sometime fairly soon.

Next up, we have a game from one of my personal favorite creators, ALcot, and it’s called Tokyo Hero Project. This one features the same setting as another one of my favorite titles, Onigokko!, but with a new cast of characters!

From VNDB:

The Tokyo Hero Project was a plan which was implemented two years ago, placing cosplaying heroes in each of the 23 wards to promote public order. But not many people knew that they actually possessed special powers and fought against the secret evil society Black Outsiders (BO) at night.

Koutarou is a poor student who lives by himself. One night while he was making his way to a part-time job, he saw a fierce battle between a cosplayer and someone wearing a kigurumi. Due to the incident, he ended up missing his part-time opportunity and his friend Nagahiko suggested a new one for him. A young girl with a black manteau welcomed him: “How wonderful it is to have you here at the secret society BO group!”. From that day on, he battles against heroes while wearing a mascot character powered suit. Do your best, Koutarou!

This one is 90% translated and 40% edited as I wait very impatiently for it!

The their next announcement of the night was from another one of my favorites, ninetail, Gears of Dragoon – Fragments of A New Era. Just like the VenusBlood series, this Dungeon Crawler looks to be full of some great RPG gameplay.

From VNDB:

This dungeon exploration RPG is ninetail’s 10th anniversary title. The city-state Carnas flourishes thanks to its prominent magical culture. However, underneath it lies the ruins of a fallen machine civilization.

One time, a machine was excavated from the labyrinth and once it was restored, its power and convenience sparked great interest. This led to a delicate tension between the contrasting civilizations and the gears of fate began to turn.

Heeding his father’s last words to find the truth of history and obtain the great power hidden deep within the ruins, as well as following his innate inquisitiveness, the young ‘undergrounder’ Rosta sets out to challenge the labyrinth.

This one is fully edited and translated, but will be in beta testing for a bit due to all the gameplay aspects.

Next up, JAST has some more gore on display from of the greatest makers of this type of content, Black Cyc. Fans of the genre probably know about Gore Screaming Show and this one certainly looks like one crazy ride!

From VNDB:

Gore Screaming Show begins with the return of Kyouji Jinno, a relatively unassuming yet personable student, to the remote suburban community of his early childhood. With his parents still employed overseas, Kyouji takes up residence with his aunt, a cheerful woman with an unusual passion for occult research and relatively carefree regard to responsibilities. In this eased environment, Kyouji finds many opportunities to pursue leisure activities, rekindling friendship with several girls he once knew, now having matured into beautiful women.

Soon thereafter, Kyouji accepts a request from his aunt to help unravel mysteries concerning paranormal phenomena she is investigating. They immediately set off, accompanied by friends in tow, to an ominous undeveloped forest that boarders the town.

After discussing details of an obscure local myth, the group splits to cover more ground, whereupon Kyouji stumbles across a decayed well. Suddenly an adolescent girl appears, candidly forthcoming and friendly in disposition towards Kyouji, but holding venomous hatred for his female companion. When the encounter is suddenly cut short, the nameless child inexplicably vanishes without a trace.

The forest expedition is then repeated a second time, further arousing the attentions of the mysterious young girl: an interest that inaugurates events of chaotic death and destruction in its wake… all committed in the pursuit of happiness once denied.

This on is 65% translated and 40% edited.

JAST ended their panel with a bang by announcing another highly sought after Nitro+ title, Tokyo Necro. Fans have been hoping for a Western release of this for a long time and that will soon become a reality!

From VNDB:

Nemo ante mortem beatus.
“Nobody can be called happy before their death.”
(Herodotus, “Histories”)

– The era of “Necromancers” has come.

The protagonists, Kibanohara Ethica and Nagaoka Souun, are young “Private Special Living Dead Stalkers”. By practicing a special kind of martial art called “Close Quarter Armed Martial Arts”, both of them have achieved great heights in their career.
Out on a mission one day, Souun becomes involved in a fierce battle and meets a young girl. Remembering nothing but her name, “Hougyou Ilia”, she has become the target of a mysterious group of necromancers.
The ice-cold Tokyo of gunpowder smoke, living dead, crime and cybernetics. Now begins the battle of the living dead stalkers and the heroine with their lives at stake.

This one is fully translated and edited.

Steve started with oprainfall not long after the campaign moved from the IGN forums to Facebook. Ever since, he has been fighting to give all non-mainstream RPGs a fair voice. As the site admin, he will continue to do this and even show there is value in what some would deem "pure ecchi." He loves niche games and anime more than anything... well, except maybe Neptune.
