Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth

Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth

One of Japan’s most iconic sword-and-sorcery properties is heading to Steam Early Access in the 2D action game Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth.

The high elf Deedlit awakens in a strange, unknown place. As she explores her surroundings, she encounters “Ghim” and more of her old friends. Where is this place? Receiving help from spirits including “Sylph” and “Salamander,” Deedlit wanders this mysterious new world in search of answers…

Filling in the gaps from 2019’s Record of Lodoss War, Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth is produced in collaboration with Why So Serious? and Team Ladybug. The game looks to draw heavily from titles like Castlevania and Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, featuring detailed sprite animations requiring up to 36 sketches per each individual movement, and finely-tuned action and gimmicks.

Players will need to harness the power of spirits to battle through each stage, taking advantage of the unique abilities of each to assist Deedlit in her quest. By absorbing the “Soul Stream” generating when attacking and defeating enemies, spirits will level up and gain a variety of enhancements, including automatically regenerated HP/MP once they reach the maximum level and more. The strength of the spirits becomes Deedlit’s strength as well.

Deedlit can also pick up and brandish various weapons dropped by enemies, including swords, knives, spears, and more. Swords are best for close-range melee attacks, while arrows excel at ranged attacks. Learning when to use each weapon will be key to making it through each level.

During the Early Access period, only the first stage will be available for play. The retail release will contain six stages and a larger cast of characters from the Record of Lodoss War for players to interact with.

Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth releases on Early Access on March 13, 2020.
