Fans of the Record of Lodoss War have some good news with a recent update about a Metroidvania game based on the franchise.

According to Twinfinite:

The game is being developed to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the popular fantasy franchise, and it’s a Metroidvania-style action-platformer starring the beautiful elf Deedlit, the heroine of the original light novel and anime series.

The news is that it’s now scheduled to release in Early Access on Steam in fall 2019, with a full release scheduled for the spring of 2020.

The Early Access model already worked quite well for the developers at Team Ladybug, who recently released Touhou Luna Nights, which currently enjoys “overwhelmingly positive” user reviews on Steam. Considering that it’s pretty much the same genre, this definitely bodes well for the new Lodoss game.

Team Ladybug released a trailer for their Record of Lodoss War game in 2018, which you can watch below.
