Words can’t even begin to describe how I feel about Psychonauts 2 right now. After E3 settled today, it was just about the only thing on my mind. Being the first game I completed 100%, the series holds a special place in my heart. After it was announced that there was a sequel, I was giddy to get my eyes on some gameplay.

They’ve released trailers and gameplay here and there, but this is the first real look at the story. Raz has started his new job as a Psychonaut and for some reason…Dr. Loboto and Coach Oleander are back. I haven’t yet seen Rhombus of Ruin, so I’m interested to see why these characters have returned. Also you appear to go into the mind of Dr. Loboto and there’s a strange entity there that looks to be the main villain of the game. From what we’ve seen of the trailer, it looks like the level design and humor are still on par. I love the design of Dr. Loboto’s brain, it gives off that familiar, yet creepy vibe.

Despite the acquisition of Double Fine by Microsoft, Psychonauts 2 will still be releasing for Xbox One, PS4, and PC, as well as both Mac and Linux.

About Dalton McClain

A gamer at heart, and a creator by trade. As a shy kid who grew up in a small town, my only solace was with the games that I enjoyed playing. That being said I enjoy just about every type of game, but more than anything I love playing horror/unique games. I look forward to sharing my knowledge of the strange and unusual with the world.
