Neptunia Shooter | FeaturedIf some of the 2D character designs for the upcoming Super Neptunia RPG don’t seem flat enough for you, perhaps the 8-bit pixel art style of Neptunia Shooter will strike more of a chord with you. With an official release date announced earlier today, Neptunia Shooter will hit Steam on May 21, 2019. It is an 8-bit SHMUP featuring Neptune and several other characters from the Hyperdimension Neptunia series. These other characters include Compa, IF, Noire, and Vert. There are a total of six playable stages and each character will have a unique, specialized set of attacks. A brief description of this title (provided by Idea Factory) can be found below.

Armed to the teeth, players begin as Neptune in an unworldly 8-bit space dimension ravaged by creatures who burst endless waves of bullets. Shoot, dodge, and defeat the boss in six unique bullet-hell worlds. After defeating each boss, they will join your mission, allowing you to switch characters and utilize their unique shooting abilities. Neptune and her friends must traverse through this shmup space dimension and defeat the last boss once and for all!

Neptunia Shooter will release on Steam in just over two weeks. It will be primarily single-player but include online leaderboards for sharing scores. There is currently no listed price or ability to pre-order the title, but be sure to keep your eyes open for more information as it is made available. In the meantime, have a look at the announcement trailer below.
