Mechstermination Force 1

Though I don’t think of myself this way, I’ve had fellow gamer friends call me a masochist. Maybe that’s simply due to growing up in the 80s, when platformers were all the rage, and tough as nails. Thanks to playing series like Mega Man and Contra, I tend to love challenging, beautiful games, which is where Mechstermination Force comes in. Developed by the fine folks who brought us Gunman Clive, Hörberg Productions, it is a pure boss rush full of giant robot threats. In a similar vein to Contra, your goal is to reduce these bots to scrap metal, no matter how tough they are.

Mechstermination Force 3

If that sounds exciting to you, then I have even better news. Not only is Mechstermination Force a beautiful and colorful boss rush, but it also features co-op, so you can slag robots with a buddy. And even better, it’s an exclusive on Nintendo Switch. But the best news of all is that it’s coming out very soon, on April 4th! So if you are a gamer of a certain age, or just love fun and challenging games, keep your eyes peeled for this one. Mechstermination Force looks to be one hell of a ride.

Evil MegaMechs have taken control of the world, but a small group of brave soldiers led by Captain Johnson fight for the future of humanity, they call themselves the Mechstermination Force. Step into the boots of one of 4 new rookie recruits, and join the Mechstermination Force to lead the charge against the mechanical menace.

Directed by Bertil Hörberg, creator of the critically acclaimed Gunman Clive series, Mechstermination Force is an action platforming boss rush experience that will have you blasting giant mechs to kingdom come. Shoot your way through 14 massive bosses, each one completely unique in a complex run and gun platforming challenge. Each boss will need to be jumped or climbed on while avoiding their attacks. Built on Hörberg Productions’ custom engine with beautiful 3D graphics featuring hand-painted textures, running at a silky smooth 60fps at a resolution of 1080p docked or 720p in handheld mode and featuring 2 player co-op in all control configurations, Mechstermination Force has been built and optimised from the ground up for Nintendo Switch.

“I am so happy to finally be able to share my next title with the world, I see it as the crazy lovechild of Contra and Shadow of the Colossus,” said Bertil Hörberg, Director of Hörberg Productions. “There have been many scrapped ideas following Gunman Clive in the lead up to this, but all worth it as I am immensely proud of Mechstermination Force. It plays beautifully and features some truly devious bosses, I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I did making it!”
