Kill la Kill - IF | Ragyo intro

Kill la Kill - IF | Nui intro

During the Arc Revolution Cup Japan this weekend, Arc System Works released some new information about the upcoming arena fighter Kill la Kill – IF. In addition to two new playable characters, the publisher also announced that the game will be coming to Switch as well as PS4 and Steam when it releases in 2019.

Alongside the Switch version, Arc System Works announced that Satsuki’s lovely mother Ragyo Kiryuin and her psychotic partner Nui Harime will both be playable. This raises the number of announced playable characters to eight: Ryuko Matoi, Satsuki Kiryuin, Ira Gamagoori, Uzu Sanageyama, Houka Inumata, Nonon Jakuzure, and Ragyo and Nui.

Kill la Kill – IF has been shown off and playable at multiple events since its announcement at Anime Expo, giving players some hands-on time with the game. It features the Ketsui Testament rock-paper-scissors mechanic, the idea of which seems like a simplified version of SoulCalibur 6’s Reversal Edge, the implementation of Kill la Kill’s mid-fight verbal interactions, in order to raise your Ketsui level and unlock various benefits including access to an instant-kill move. The game has 3D graphics designed to look as similar to the Kill la Kill anime series as possible, as well as retaining its style and fast pace. You can find more about the game and its systems on its official site.
