At the beginning of today’s Smash exclusive Nintendo Direct it may have been announced that Ken and Incineroar would be last fighters to round up the roster when the game launches this December, the development team do have more fighters in mind in the form of paid DLC, however they weren’t done yet announcing later additions to the cast. Piranha Plant will be joining the fight as a limited time free character for those who buy the game early.
Those who own a physical copy of the game will simply have to go through the same process to redeem their gold points to become eligible for the offer, and although Piranha Plant will not be available at launch, with Sakurai saying it will likely take a few months before it’s ready, it will be free DLC for those who buy the game within the time window.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will launch December 7th, 2018 for the Nintendo Switch.
