Lately, there has been a number of fan-made Touhou games released that wasn’t in the main series’ gameplay style. For those interested in a more traditional Touhou game, Fantastic Danmaku Festival has just been released on Steam. As of now, the game is 10% off until August 23rd. It’s a fanmade sequel to the original Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, the first game of the Windows era. Version 1.00 of the game itself was released on March 8th, 2014. After the original incident, what could the head of the Scarlet Devil Mansion could be planning this time as the land is shrouded once more?

Overall, it’s a retread of the original game. For those familiar with Embodiment of Scarlet Devil however, there are some notable differences. Firstly, Rumia has been replaced by fanmade character Nyx. Also, Sanae Kochiya and Patchiouli Knowledge has been introduced as playable characters. The game is published by both original Chinese developer StarX and Starship Studio. Overall, this game can be seen as a high definition remake, sporting better portraits and more vibrant danmaku patterns.
