The staff of the Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku o! (KonoSuba – God’s blessing on this wonderful world!!) anime adaptation have taken to Twitter to announce some big news for the anime. A second season for the KonoSuba anime has been greenlit. You can check out the Tweet announcing the news below.

In celebration of the announcement, the original illustrator for the KonoSuba light novels, Kurone Mishima, posted an image to celebrate. You can check out that picture below.

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku o! is written by Natsume Akatsuki and illustrated by Kurone Mishima. It is published by Kadokawa Shoten under their Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint. The series was first published in 2013 and currently has 8 volumes released.

A synopsis for the series is provided by ANN:

Kazuma Satō is a hikikomori (shut-in) die-hard fan of games, anime, and manga. A traffic accident brings his disappointingly brief life to an end, or it should have, but he wakes up and sees a beautiful girl who introduces herself as a goddess. She asks him if he’d like to go to another world but he can only bring one thing with him. Kazumi chooses to bring the goddess. With that, he is transported to another world and his great adventure subjugating the demon king begins, but first the hard work of finding food, clothing, and shelter begins. Kazuma wants to live in peace, but the goddess raises one problem after another, and then the demon king’s army has its eyes set on him.

The first season of the anime ran for 10 episodes and first premiered on January 13, 2016. The series was streamed by Crunchyroll as it aired in Japan.
