Time for a whole new paradise of little sisters

Lovers of little sister-type characters rejoice! MangaGamer is releasing Moonstone Cherry’s Imouto Paradise 2 just in time for Christmas!

For those who are either utterly baffled by this idea or are just plain curious, allow me to explain. Imouto is the Japanese word for “younger sister” and yes that does mean we are diving headfirst into the topic of incest with this. Let’s just get that out in the open now. That, of course, brings up the obvious question of why. Well, in short, younger sister type characters are kind of a thing in Japanese media.

Imouto Paradise 2 | Koharu
Koharu from the first Imouto Paradise. Certainly one of the more mischevious little sister types.

There are various cultural reasons for this, but a big part of the appeal is they tend to be adorable somehow. Either in a mischievous manner or in the “I want to protect you” kind of way. You can’t help but love them or at least find them memorable. Moonstone Cherry though is taking it a step further, by making a nukige about the subject. That being said, this is MOONSTONE we’re talking about, so expect plenty of great colorful artwork and some tug-at-your-heartstrings moments.  That’s enough about Imouto theory as it were, what about this particular game?

Well, as you can guess from the title this is a sequel to the first Imouto Paradise which MangaGamer released on August 22, 2014. The game was so popular it then got a physical release on March 16, 2015. I have not gotten around to playing the original Imouto Paradise yet. However, it does seem that the two games are connected according to MangaGamer’s blog. To avoid spoilers I’ll let you read the post yourselves, but I was certainly surprised by that. So, what’s the plot set-up this time?

Imouto Paradise 2 | Momoka
Momoka from Imouto Paradise 2. She bears an uncanny resemblance to a certain sister from the first game. Must be my imagination.

Your parents have left and you are home alone with your five younger sisters. For most families, this would be just another boring summer vacation. For the sisters of the Nanase family, it’s an opportunity as each of them has a secret. A secret forbidden love for their Onii-chan. Motherly Momoka loves to bake sweets and tries her best to look after the rest of the family. Strict and studious Ririna does her best to keep her brother and the others in line. Clumsy Yuzu tries her best to act mature despite almost looking like a cuddly mascot. Athletic Chiharu loves spending time with her Onii-chan playing games, watching anime, and being just as pervy as he probably is. And finally, there is quiet Shizuku who can almost always be found reading books. Though she’s more than willing to put that knowledge into practice.

As you can probably tell by now, this is all done in a lighter-and-softer kind of way. And considering all five of these girls have their desires firmly targeted towards their beloved Onii-chan you can only imagine the hijinks that will ensue.

Imouto Paradise 2 will be released by MangaGamer on December 22. While normally $44.95 if you preorder your copy you lock in a price of $40.45 instead.

Also, one last piece of interesting news. MOONSTONE isn’t done with this series yet. Imouto Paradise 3 releases in Japan on January 26, 2018.

Yes, there is an Imouto Paradise 3. The Paradise is neverending it seems.

Happy doting on your sisters!
