Square Enix is partnering with the American Red Cross to launch the Stormblood blood drive. It will be taking place during E3 2017 (June 13-15th) and beyond. As you can tell by the name, this is alongside the launch of their second expansion for Final Fantasy XIV Online. The Stormblood blood mobile will visit other places after E3 so there will be more blood donation opportunities in the future as well. Here is the E3 blood drive location and times:
- Location: Los Angeles Convention Center at 1201 S. Figueroa St.
- Tuesday, June 13, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Wednesday, June 14, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Thursday, June 15, 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
If you’ve never given blood before, or haven’t done so recently, the Red Cross urges you to set up an appointment and help build up a sufficient community donated blood supply this summer. If you give blood at the E3 blood drive event, you will receive a commemorative T-shirt as a thank you (while supplies last).
How to Donate Blood
Once you have your appointment set up, you will need a few things on donation day. A driver’s license, blood donor card, or two other forms of identification are required when you check in. In most states, you need to be at least 17 (or 16 with parental consent where allowed by state law) . You also need to weigh at least 110 pounds and be in generally good health. Donors 18 or younger also have to meet certain requirements for height and weight. If you meet these points, then you may be eligible to donate blood.
You can save time by using RapidPass to complete your pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online. You need to do this on the day of your donation, prior to your arrival at the Stormblood blood drive or any other blood drive.
Eligible donors of all blood types are urged to donate to help ensure there is blood available for those in need (for example accident victims, cancer patients, etc.). There are three ways to set up your appointment for the Stormblood blood drive (or other drives):
- Through the Red Cross Blood Donor App
- Online at redcrossblood.org
- Or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767)
