This is a much better week for being a Nintendo fan, and for the Nintendo Download in particular. Reason why is there are actually two new releases this week, as well as the usual sales and virtual console goodies. So let’s see what is on the docket this week!

Nintendo Download | Tank Troopers
It certainly has some nice visual flair. Reminds me of Advance Wars.

First up, Tank Troopers has finally hit the 3DS! I remember it being mentioned a couple Directs ago, and it looked to be visually appealing and unique, if nothing else. Featuring both a single player and up 6 player multiplayer mayhem, it at least offers some nice bang for your buck as well. Tank Troopers will also feature many customization options and 30+ tanks to drive, so it might be worth a look if you are looking for some fun on your portable system.

Nintendo Download | Back to Bed

Also new this week is a puzzle game for the Wii U called Back to Bed. You must guide sleepwalking Bob to safety using his creepy dog like persona, called Subob. Play through a surreal Escher-like world filled with odd threats to navigate. It certainly looks different, and I always enjoy a fun new puzzle game.

Nintendo Download | Ogre Battle 64

If you’re more interested in classic games, you’ll be happy to hear that Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber hits the Wii U Virtual Console this week. Though I haven’t played the game myself, I have heard good things, and I do rather enjoy the tactical RPG sub genre. Be sure to check it out if you feel similarly!

Nintendo Download | FF Sale

This week also has a very compelling sale happening, specifically for Square Enix fans. Since it’s their 30th anniversary, they are offering pretty sizable discounts on a few games. First up, Final Fantasy Explorers has been cut from $39.99 to $19.99; next, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is discounted from $7.99 to $5.59 and last, and most importantly, Final Fantasy Theatrhythm: Curtain Call has been cut from $39.99 to $19.99. That last game is a must own for any fans of classic Square Enix tunes, as it is packed to the brim with songs from several of their best games, including some non Final Fantasy titles.

Nintendo Download | Zelda My Nintendo

As if that wasn’t enough, My Nintendo is also offering sales up to 30% off of digital Zelda games this week. The featured games are both Oracle games, Majora’s Mask 3D, A Link to the Past and Skyward Sword. To keep that theme going, they are also offering a few great Zelda musical offerings, such as Zelda Main Theme Medley, Ballad of the Goddess and Great Fairy’s Mountain. And if all that wasn’t enough, there are also some new Zelda 3DS themes available this week.

All in all, a pretty great week! I will have to check out Tank Troopers and Back to Bed, as well as take advantage of some of these great sales. Thanks again for tuning into oprainfall for the weekly Download, and tune in next time for more Nintendo swag.
