It’s another good week for Nintendo fans. The Nintendo Download is back, now with 100% less Federation Force! Kidding aside, there are a lot of great games out this week, including the usual sales and new releases. There is even a demo for a great new upcoming game, as well as a surprising amount of fighter games on the list. Let’s check it out!

First, let’s get the requisite Mario game out of the way. The fantastic looking Super Mario 64 DS, which redid the original Mario 64 with multiple playable characters, is officially out on the Wii U Virtual Console. I actually regret missing out on this the first time around, so I’ll probably check it out now from the convenience of my Wii U. More surprising this week is the release of not one, but three Street Fighter games! Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers, Street Fighter Alpha 2 and Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting all make their way to the Virtual Console this week. I know I most appreciated the massive franchise in the good old SNES days of my youth, and nostalgia is always good. Last but not least, there is a playable demo of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice available on the 3DS. This will let you try out a courtroom clash early on in the game, and give you a taste of what’s to come when the game releases on September 8.

As for sales, there are plenty to be had this week. I’m only gonna mention the 3DS sales though, since the Wii U sales likely won’t interest our readers. For the 3DS, there are sales on Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars, the fantastic Rhythm Thief & the Emperor’s Treasure and The Delusions of Von Sottendorf and His Square Mind. That last one might not ring a bell, and if not, make sure to check out our review of the quirky puzzle platformer.

Last but not least, the following games are newly released. For the Wii U, there is Shadow Archer, and for the 3DS, there is Japanese Rail Sim 3D Monorail Trip to Okinawa (shudder), Legend of Kurasaki and Pixel Paint. Nintendo doesn’t always make it clear what is good and what is shovelware, so if you’re not familiar with any of those, do yourself a favor and do some research to see if they look interesting! Finally, the Summer Savings event is still happening for a week, so try and snag some more bargains! And make sure to tune in to oprainfall next week to see tons of coverage live from the show floor at PAX West!
