Genkai Tokki

There are times when I admit I have to do a bit of research about a game I cover. This is definitely one of those times, as I had zero familiarity with Genkai Tokki: Seven Pirates. It took me very little time to discover it is being published by Compile Heart and developed by Felistella. It’s definitely a crazy title with lots of fanservice, so I’m not sure if we’ll ever see it stateside. However, for those lucky Vita owners in Japan, it’s slated to release tomorrow.

The best way I can describe Genkai Tokki: Seven Pirates is as a crazy, monster girl version of One Piece. It involves the exploits of a pirate girl named Parute in her search for treasure in the Monsupi Sea. She’ll face other pirates, monster girls and more in her quest. The reason I think we’ll never get this gem? There is a tactical correlation between breast size and stats. Yes, you heard me right. Big bosoms equal better attack power and defense, and smaller boobs make for more speedy fighters. Crazy for a RPG, but it sounds pretty fun and funny.

To see some of what’s in store in Genkai Tokki, check out the extensive trailer below, and stay tuned to oprainfall for all your Compile Heart news! Please note that the audio doesn’t start up until a couple minutes into the trailer.
