The high-flying puppet show is now getting a manga drawn by Yui Sakuma, known for creating the manga Complex Age. Furthermore, Sakuma will be working closely with Gen Urobuchi, who is the script writer and supervising editor for the Thunderbolt Fantasy show. The manga will premiere July 21 in both Kodansha’s Morning and D Morning magazines.
Thunderbolt Fantasy is a collaboration between Nitroplus (character designs), Good Smile Company (modeling advisor), and PILI Multimedia Inc. (a Taiwanese hand puppet company known for creating dramas). Along with Urobuchi being the chief supervisor and script writer, Hiroyuki Sawano (Attack on Titan, Xenoblade Chronicles X) is composing the soundtrack. The TV series premiered on July 8 and is available for streaming on Crunchyroll.
