Idea Factory International have announced they are localizing the dungeon crawling RPG MeiQ no Chika ni Shisu under the name MeiQ: Labyrinth of Death for the PS Vita in North America and Europe this fall/autumn. It will be a physical and digital release and is compatible with the PlayStation TV.

The company has sent us this press release with screenshots (in Japanese)-via email:

Suit up! A worldwide blackout means it’s time to put your dungeon-crawling skills to the test! MeiQ: Labyrinth of Death™ comes to the PlayStation®Vita system for North America and Europe this Fall 2016! It will be available digitally and physically and will be compatible with the PlayStation®TV.

The rotation of the celestial bodies has ceased, and it’s up to you to make your way through the four tower mazes and set things in motion again in this challenging dungeon-crawling RPG! Your heroines will be joined in battle by giant mechanical Guardians, whose individual parts can be customized in multiple ways to suit your battle style against a multitude of elemental enemies!

About MeiQ: Labyrinth of Death
First, the winds stopped. Then, birds vanished from the skies. Finally, the sun set…
And an eternal night fell upon the world. The reason was quickly identified. It was a story told of in legends. The world had ceased hundreds of years ago as well. But there was a legendary mage who had managed to restart it.

Thus, elders gathered capable young Machina Mages from around the world. They sent them to the legendary city: Machina City, Southern Cross. You must restart the world, and bring an end to this eternal night. That is your mission, and your destiny. Now, go forth on your journey. Go, Estra!

Key Features
Labyrinths of Possibility! Navigate challenging maps and puzzles in this first-person dungeon-crawler!
You’re a Woman, I’m a Machine! Pair your 3-person party with three different Guardians for a turn-based, dungeon-crawling battle system!
Advanced Robotics! Unique Guardian robots can be customized even further with different parts and crystals to enhance their abilities!
Elemental Enemies! Strategize attacks between your humans and Guardians and find the crack in your foe’s armor by exploiting their elemental weakness!

This game’s art looks pretty sweet, and having already imported the soundtrack I can say that the music is awesome too and I’ll be looking forward to this release as I’m sure many of you are.

MeiQ: Labyrinth of Death is coming to the PlayStation Vita this Fall in NA and EU.

Think Valkyrie Drive with guys and you're on the right lines.

  • Mr0303

Awesome. After the somewhat disappointment that was Stranger of Sword City I could play a good dungeon crawler, plus the unique approach really boosts my curiosity for the title.

  • JGuill

Like a lot of these niche games, I don’t like the titles. ‘MeiQ’ just sounds so awkward to say….

Can’t go wrong with cute girls with mechs! And a Vita release! Will definitely check it out.
