Pokken Tournament

Nintendo really seems to want the world to know Pokken Tournament is a serious fighting game capable of being highly competitive, and with Bandai Namco at the helm, that doesn’t really come as a surprise. Back in February Nintendo hosted a series of Pokken Tournament… tournaments at GameStops in different regions of the US. The winners from each region then were given the opportunity to compete in the national competition that will be held on March 17 at Nintendo New York in New York City.

In a video released today on their YouTube account Nintendo revealed who would be training the regional winners. This includes well know personalities in the competitive scene like Justin Wong, and Justin Flynn along with Eric “ESam” Lew, Reepal “RIP” Parbhoo, Will “DK Will” Walsh, Shaun “Fab” Swain, Nairoby Quezada, and “Tasty Steve” Scott. This is a pretty diverse list of trainers with backgrounds in Smash, and Tekken, and other fighting games. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.

You can checkout the video for yourself. It’s a pretty neat watch. It gives you a bit of background on each trainer along with their favorite Nintendo games. Who would of guessed that Justin Wong was an Animal Crossing nut?
