Following their recent announcement of the Japanese release date for Gundam Breaker 3, Bandai Namco have updated the official Japanese website with new details on the upcoming game. For example, in addition to being able to take advantage of various Gunpla techniques (such as representation of damage or plating coating and dirtiness), you can also attach various expansion weapons to the top of parts. These expansion weapons have different abilities, including beam launchers, missile pods, and rail cannons.
As for the game’s story, it has been one year since the space elevator was completed. While playing in an arcade, you meet a girl named Misa who wants to scout you for her Gunpla team. She is from the Ayato Shopping District, which has unfortunately been in decline. Misa wants to revive her declining district. So in an attempt to do so she starts a Gunpla battle team. Through her new Gunpla team, she starts propaganda activities. Together, your goal with her is to advance from local tournaments up to national tournaments. Can you help Misa revitalize the Ayato Shopping District?
They’ve also added over 20 new and playable Gunpla to the game. Another addition are SD Gundam BB Soldiers which act as supporting companions for players during battle. You can also set modules to your SD Gundam to have their support effect extended to the whole party. There is also Bounty Hunter Mode, where you can go up against other players’ Mobile Suit data in pseudo battles. Should you come away victorious, you earn in-game currency.
As announced this week in the latest issue of Famitsu Weekly, Gundam Breaker 3 is set to land on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita gaming systems in Japan on March 3rd.
