The Opening Movie has just been released by Compile Heart for their upcoming PS4 exclusive RPG, Black Rose Valkyrie. The game is set for release on July 21, 2016 in Japan. However, given the history of Compile Heart games, it is almost a certain thing we will see this title localized to the West. And from all indications their previous game, MegaDimension Neptunia V-II, performed very well when it hit the western markets. This one looks like a bit more serious than Omega Quintet, but it does has some style elements with the art work and battles that is reminiscent to me. Unfortunately there is no gameplay in this trailer, but it is still enough to get me hyped up for a translation. Check it out here, and Operation Rainfall will keep an eye on this one.

About William Haderlie

Born in the 1970's, I've been an avid participant for much of video game history. A lifetime of being the sort of supergeek entrenched in the sciences and mathematics has not curbed my appreciation for the artistry of video games, cinema, and especially literature.

I am uncertain how well Omega Quintet did, but this game certainly appears interesting just based on the character design alone so I hope it gets translated. Hope to see some gameplay soon.

Anecdotal evidence seems to suggest that Omega didn’t do that well. But working in the engine did help with MegaNep V-II. This does look more like a deeper game, even though I did enjoy Omega Quintet for it’s own merits. There is some minor gamplay that you can find floating around the interwebs. And it does look very cool. I will definitely purchase if it is translated.
