Koei Tecmo has released some gameplay footage from Hyrule Warriors: Legends for Nintendo 3DS showing off a little bit of Toon Link’s fighting skills. While he is joining the fray in Hyrule Warriors for the first time on Nintendo 3DS, it certainly isn’t the first time Toon Link has had his battle prowess tested. Remember the Pit of 50 Trials in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker? While he is certainly a very cool addition to the game, there are also four other new characters joining the battle. You may already have known that they include Tetra, the King of Red Lions, and Skullkid. But we also now know that Linkle is also coming in the 3DS Hyrule Warriors game. She is essentially a female version of Link, the legendary hero of Hyrule.
In the new gameplay footage below, we see Link taking on masses of Miniblins and Poes in two different levels themed after the Earth and Wind Temples from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Some of the Miniblins are even sporting shields, but unfortunately for them they are still no match for Toon Link’s power. He can slash them one by one or take out a bunch at once with his Hurricane Spin. We also hear some familiar music from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker playing as Toon Link cuts down the many foolish foes who stand in his way.
Hyrule Warriors: Legends will launch in Japan on January 21st, 2016. Those of us in Europe and North America will have to wait until March 25th to get our hands on the game.
