Teaser for Alderamin on the Sky

The stage event on Sunday at Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival 2015 revealed an anime adaptation of Nejimaki Seirei Senki: Tenkyou no Alderamin, known as Alderamin on the Sky in English, is coming sometime in the future, along with a teaser visual for the series. The series was originally a light novel series written by Bokuto Uno and illustrated by Sanbasou and Ryuutetsu, with the first volume released in June 2012. Sanbasou was the original illustrator, until he was replaced by Ryuutetsu for the sixth volume onward due to poor health.

The series is a “military history fantasy”, and is set in the middle of a war between the Katvarna Empire and the Republic of Kioka. 17-year-old Ikuta is a lazy, pacifist womanizer in Katvarna, who is forced to take the High Grade Military Officer Exam. He becomes known as a great soldier and commander, and survives the brutal war thanks to his intelligence.

Alderamin on the Sky is being published by Kadokawa, with the eighth volume set to release on October 10. Kadokawa also serialized a manga adaptation by Taiki Kawakami, with two volumes published so far and a third releasing on October 10.

The event also had an announcement of a drama CD, with an original story written by Uno.
