At a special Sword Art Online stage presentation at Dengeki Bunko Fall Festival 2015, Bandai Namco announced many new details pertaining to games already released, games that are coming soon as well as details on the new SAO IV game they teased back at TGS 2015. For the presentation they had many guests including Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Kirito’s Voice Actor) and Reki Kawahara (creator of Sword Art Online). Near the end of the presentation Futami Takakai, a producer at Bandai Namco, showcased a new trailer for SAO IV.
SAO IV is now officially titled Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization. The game will be set in Aincrad once again. The trailer showcased some gameplay, including some enemies and what looked like a boss. The trailer also showed Kirito’s new design for the game as well as the new female character created specifically for Hollow Realization. Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization is set to be released on both the PS4 and PS Vita sometime in 2016. The words “Sword Art: Origin” were also seen in the trailer. You can check out screenshots from the new trailer below.
Here’s a look at the new female character from Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization as well as Kirito’s new design.
They also showcased a promotional poster for the game. You can check out some more pictures from the announcement as well as the promo poster below. The poster features Kirito, Asuna and the unnamed female character from the trailer.
Before the Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization reveal, Bandai Namco also announced some special edition PS4s for the Sword Art Online Game Director’s Edition. It appears these Special Edition PS4’s will be released on November 19th and will come in both Black and White colors and will cost ¥42,980. You can check out some pictures of the Special PS4’s below.
At the presentation they also revealed a new mascot. Like Kirito before her, Asuna now has an adorable mascot form. Some pics of Asuna in mascot form can be seen below. These mascots are actually pretty adorable.
So what do you think about Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization? Are you excited that the game is set in Aincrad again or did you wish they set it in the GGO world? I’m interested in finding out what “Sword Art: Origin” is and who the new female character is. Needless to say I am excited for this newest entry in the series.
